“BLUe”- A Group Exhibition of Contemporary Art on Water, 22– 28 March 2013, Convention Centre, KIIT, Bhubaneswar

This special Art Exhibition titled – “BLUe”, was organised to commemorate the World Water Day between 22nd - 28th March 2013 at Convention Centre, KIIT, Bhubaneswar. Every year, 22nd March is observed as World Water Day across the globe to remind the inhabitants of the earth of their responsibilities to protect, save and conserve this precious natural resource. This exhibition is a joint initiative of several organisations working on water issues such as Arghyam, ONE DROP, Bakul Foundation, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Health of the Urban Poor (HUP), Humara Bachpan, Pure Water Project & Practical Action.

The exhibition, a special curated show, is relevant for the reason that 22 contemporary Indian visual artists from different cities of the country have reacted to socio-political issue of water, its relevance and the risk inherent within the inevitability of nurturing cultivated water. This exhibition showcased the artworks of artists from Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kumbakonam, Bhubaneshwar, New Delhi, Baroda.

The Art Exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Shekhar Kapur, Eminent Film Director and Mr. Kabir Bedi, Eminent Film Personality on 22nd March 2013 at 04.30pm in Convention Centre, KIIT Campus.
