Why This Project? - To link research and education on groundwater in such a manner that it would have a significant impact on a heterogeneous target group.
- To develop a framework for disseminating information on groundwater resources management that is based as much on the understanding of geo-hydrological systems as on participative processes that can stimulate plans into actions.
Target group The practitioners in water resources management, especially aquifer recharge & management and watershed development. Activities Planned: - Geological and hydro geological mapping in continuation (and extension) of the beginning that ACWADAM and GGP have made during the last two years.
- Establishment of basic monitoring systems for groundwater resources assessment in the region.
- Development of an overall strategy for groundwater management in the region.
- To involve graduate students of geology from Pune University to take up project work in the Purandar and adjacent areas.
