Towards Water Security for All in Bundelkhand Region - A project by Development Alternatives in 10 villages

Summary 

Arghyam is supporting a holistic water management project in 10 villages in two districts of Bundelkhand region. The Project will put in place the integrated approaches for water & wastewater management in select villages in the region.

 

Why This Project?

  • The water tables have gone down steeply and the spectre of water famine is becoming a reality.

Target group

Around 6,000- 7,000 residents of the 10 villages across two blocks of Tikamgarh and Jhansi Districts.

 

Activities Planned: 

  • Constructing Water Harvesting Structures.
  • Providing Drinking Water and Sanitation Facilities..
  • Community Training & Capacity Building.
  • Training in Water Enterprises & Services
  • Based on the results from the pilot studies, DA proposes to spread the program to all the 13 districts in the region in the next phase.
