Location – Sulibhanjan and Nandrabad villages in Khuldabad taluk, Aurangabad district, Maharashtra Partner NGO/institution – Gomukh Trust Date of Commencement: January 2007 Expected Date of Conclusion: December 2007 Summary The project aims to enable the villagers to obtain access to a basic quantity of potable water (40 lpcd). This will be done by tapping both decentralized and mainstream sources. Roof-top water harvesting will provide the villagers with enough water to supply their basic needs during the monsoon. In summer, when other sources dry out, the villagers shall necessarily use the piped water supply. They will however be educated about household treatment of water. This will enable them to ensure the quality of water throughout the year. Why the project?
