Summary

The project aims to enable the villagers to obtain access to a basic quantity of potable water (40 lpcd). This will be done by tapping both decentralized and mainstream sources. Roof-top water harvesting will provide the villagers with enough water to supply their basic needs during the monsoon.  In summer, when other sources dry out, the villagers shall necessarily use the piped water supply. They will however be educated about household treatment of water. This will enable them to ensure the quality of water throughout the year.

Why the project?
  • To secure adequate and potable drinking water for the residents of Sulibhanjan and Nandrabad.
Target group – 2910 people comprising of 450 households in the selected 2 villages.

Activities planned
  • Conducting a PRA and training programmes.
  • Construction of demonstration units - Bio-sand filter, Rainwater harvesting unit.
