On December 18, 2009 Ms Sunita Nadhamuni addressed the State Secretaries in charge of rural water supply and sanitation. This two day conference was organised by the Department of Drinking Water Supply, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India in Delhi. The presentation brought out the challenges in capacity building in rural water supply and sanitation sector. It also highlighted the work that Arghyam is doing with its partners in the capacity building arena. The talk also emphasised the need for integration and convergence. It discussed the integrated village water management model that is being piloted in 20 villages in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
