Water day has come again. Did we do anything differently about our use and abuse of water since the last World Water day? At the gross level, it appears not. Because, in the context of India, this past year was one of interspersed drought, inflation in food prices, increasing evidence of groundwater depletion and water quality, rising agitation about river pollution, etc.

To mark World Water Day, a Rainwater Harvesting Mela is being organized at Jawahar Bal Bhawan, Cubbon Park on Saturday, March 20, 2010, from 10:00 am to 5 p.m. This event is jointly hosted by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), Bangalore Jalamandali Abhiyantara Sangha, Arghyam and Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology.

Arghyam identified as a National Key Resource Centre

Arghyam is one of the National Key Resource Centres (KRC), identified by the Department of Drinking Water Supply, Government of India. There are twenty institutions across the country identified as KRCs. These KRCs are expected to help states and their agencies in developing their IEC strategy as well as capacity building of different stakeholders.
